After scaling Billboard‘s charts for over a year, George Birge’s breakthrough single “Mind on You” finally arrives on the Billboard Hot 100.
The song, released in 2021 on RECORDS Nashville, debuts at No. 88 on the Dec. 30-dated Hot 100 with 31.6 million radio airplay audience impressions (up 14%) and 1.1 million U.S. streams in the Dec. 15-21 tracking week, according to Luminate.
“Mind on You” first reached Billboard’s charts on Aug. 13, 2022, when it debuted at No. 56 on Country Airplay. The song is still climbing in its 56th week on the survey, reaching a new No. 3 high on the latest chart. It also rises 20-19 on the all-format Radio Songs chart. The song is Birge’s first solo chart entry to date.
The track appears on Birge’s debut full-length studio album, George Birge: Mind On You, released in May. Recent gains can partly be attributed to a new remix featuring Kidd G and charlieonnafriday, released Dec. 15.
Birge was previously a member of country duo Waterloo Revival, alongside Cody Cooper. The pair was signed to Big Machine Records and Toby Keith’s Show Dog Nashville and was active in 2013-21. It released two EPs in that span: Little Lightning in 2013 and Front Row in 2016. The tandem also charted two songs on Country Airplay in 2015: “Hit the Road” (No. 51 peak) and “Bad for You” (No. 52).
Birge, from Austin, Texas, will be a supporting act on Parker McCollum’s forthcoming tour beginning in February. He previously opened for Brantley Gilbert, Scotty McCreery and Jake Owen, among others.
