Singer-songwriter TobyMac (real name Toby McKeehan) rolls up his 10th No. 1 on Billboard’s Christian AC Airplay chart (dated Feb. 10) with “Faithfully.”
In the Jan. 26-Feb. 1 tracking week, the song increased by 9% in plays, according to Luminate.
TobyMac, from Fairfax, Va., co-wrote “Faithfully” with Kyle Williams, and the pair produced it with Micah Kuiper. The track is from TobyMac’s LP Life After Death, which arrived atop Top Christian Albums in September 2022, becoming his sixth No. 1 set.
“Faithfully” follows TobyMac’s “Christmas Hits Different” (with Tasha Layton), which reached No. 3 on Christian AC Airplay in December, and “Cornerstone” (with Zach Williams), which dominated for seven weeks starting last June. TobyMac first led with “City on My Knees” for five frames beginning in November 2009.
With 10 Christian AC Airplay leaders, TobyMac ties for the fifth-most since the chart began in 2003. MercyMe boasts a record 20 No. 1s, followed by Jeremy Camp and Casting Crowns with 13 each.
‘Reminder’ That There’s a New No. 1
JJ Hairston’s “Reminder,” featuring Deon Kipping, rises to No. 1 on Gospel Airplay. The song, which Hairston and Kipping co-authored, increased by 6% in plays.
Hairston banks his second Gospel Airplay leader, after “You Deserve It,” with his backing group Youthful Praise, began a 10-week command in March 2017. His latest follows “Thankful,” which reached No. 2 in January 2023, marking the ninth of his 10 top 10s.
Kipping scores his first Gospel Airplay No. 1 with his fourth entry. He first charted with “What’s Coming Is Better,” which reached No. 18 in 2012, followed by “Place Called Victory” (No. 13, 2015) and “God Is Working” (No. 30, 2021).
