The Wiggles have topped the dance chart in Australia with their official album of rave remixes.

Their latest LP, ‘The Wiggles Soundsystem: Rave of Innocence’, features fourteen EDM remixes of some of the group’s classic hits such as ‘Hot Potato’, ‘Fruit Salad’, ‘Toot Toot, Chugga Chugga, Big Red Car,’ and a reworking of the group’s new viral hit, ‘Bouncing Balls’.

The album has earned the Number One stop on the ARIA Australian Dance Album Chart upon its release. It was remixed by Multi-Platinum and ARIA-nominated artist, DJ and producer Lenny Pearce – who is also the twin brother of the current purple Wiggle, John – and DJ Dorothy the Dinosaur. Pearce has over 1.3million TikTok followers enjoying his regular popular EDM remixes of unlikely kids’ music tunes and other novel songs.

‘The Wiggles Soundsystem: Rave of Innocence’ outranked releases from bigger artists such as Sia and Rufus du Sol in the charts. Earning the Number One spot has highlighted the broad appeal the famous children’s group has to both new listeners and long-time fans who hold a nostalgic love for the original songs.

Speaking of the LP in a press release, Anthony Field of The Wiggles said: “It’s so incredible seeing people in their 20s and 30s who grew up enjoying our music in a whole new fun way, this remix album is sort of an extension of that. It’s [a] wild ride.”

After the release of the album, both The Wiggles and DJ Dorothy are set to embark on a string of DJ sets scheduled at adult nightclubs across Australia throughout 2024.

The new rave live act was debuted at the sold-out Hello Sunshine Festival in Melbourne back in March, where the audience experienced the group’s shift into a dance music powerhouse.

In other news, The Wiggles, The Kid LAROI and Flume were Australia’s most-streamed local artists on Spotify last year.
