Morgan Wallen, who is fresh off a headlining gig at Stagecoach music festival, was scheduled to attend a court date in Nashville, Tenn., on Friday (May 3) in regards to his arrest after allegedly throwing a chair off the roof of a Broadway Street bar.

However, his attorney, Worrick Robinson, will appear on his behalf, Billboard can confirm. “The court has formally waived Morgan Wallen’s appearance on Friday, May 3 as his presence is not required to advance the case,” Robinson shared in a statement. “The Office of the District Attorney has been notified of the Appearance Waiver.”

The chart-topping country singer was arrested last month for allegedly throwing a chair off the six-story roof of Eric Church’s Chief’s bar. Two Metro Nashville Police Department officers were reportedly standing below on the street when the chair landed just three feet from them. They then reportedly spoke with bar staff and witnesses, as well as reviewed security footage to confirm Wallen’s alleged action.

The 30-year-old “Last Night” singer was briefly jailed and had been charged with three counts of reckless endangerment and one count of disorderly conduct.

Two weeks later, on April 19, Wallen issued a statement on his X account addressing the incident. “I didn’t feel right publicly checking in until I made amends with some folks,” he tweeted. “I’ve touched base with Nashville law enforcement, my family, and the good people at Chief’s. I’m not proud of my behavior, and I accept responsibility…. I have the utmost respect for the officers working every day to keep us all safe. Regarding my tour, there will be no change.”
