Former U.S. President Donald Trump has been found guilty on all 34 counts in his hush money case – here’s what the entertainment world had to say about the historic verdict.
Yesterday (May 30), Trump was found guilty on all 34 counts lobbied against him for falsifying records in an attempt to cover up hush money payments to porn star Stormi Daniels in the lead up to the 2016 presidential elections, which he won. Daniels alleged that she had sexual relations with Trump in 2006, which he has continually denied.
The guilty verdict now makes Trump the first-ever President of the United States to be convicted of a crime. Trump is due to return to Manhattan court on July 11 for his sentencing.
Since being found guilty, Trump maintains his innocence, slamming the verdict, calling it “rigged” and “a disgrace”. “We didn’t do a thing wrong. I am a very innocent man. It’s okay, I’m fighting for our country, I’m fighting for our constitution. Our whole country is being rigged right now. This was done by this Biden administration in order to wound, to hurt a political opponent.”
Trump also reinforced his intent to run for candidacy, stating: “The real verdict is gonna be November 5th by the people. They know what happened here, everybody knows what happened here.”
Per a statement to the Independent, a representative for the White House said Biden would not be commenting on the verdict, but “convicted felon or not, Trump will be the Republican nominee for president”.

Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., shortly took to social media to write: “The Democrats have succeeded in their years long attempt to turn America into a third-world shithole. November 5 is our last chance to save it.”
Guilty on all counts. The Democrats have succeeded in their years long attempt to turn America into a third-world shithole. November 5 is our last chance to save it.

Following the verdict, the entertainment world has taken to social media to share their thoughts on the historic ruling. Barbra Streisand wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “Convicted felon Donald Trump is blaming the judge, the jury and New York for being found guilty on 34 counts. He will never accept accountability for his crimes. Americans must not allow this felon anywhere near the White House again.”
Piers Morgan called the verdict a “massive overreach” and “obviously politically partisan action” for “something so trivial”.
This is a sad, shameful and ridiculous day for America. To drag a former President, who is running for President again, through criminal courts over something so trivial feels a massive overreach & an incredibly divisive and obviously politically partisan action.

Wonder Woman star Lynda Carter wrote: “34 is now my favourite number”. Stephen King added: “The Republican candidate for President is a convicted felon.” Katy Perry shared a short but poignant “LFG”.

If Trump becomes a convicted felon and elected officials are still willing to support him, I’m sure they’ll have no problem with him having used the N-word.

The verdict is just one of several legal challenges that Donald Trump faces. In August last year, he was arrested in Georgia on charges of plotting to overturn the state’s 2020 election results.
