Sabrina Carpenter can’t get enough of the Olympics — but she may have had enough espresso.

In a hilarious new NBC promo video for the 2024 Games uploaded Monday (July 15), the rising pop star gets a little drunk off of her favorite caffeinated beverage while chatting with an unexpected fan at a Parisian café. “Why yes, I am Sabrina Carpenter,” she tells an animated bluebird that lands on her table and starts chirping at her. “Settle down, we just met.”

“What am I doing in Paris?” she continues as the bird keeps chirping. “Isn’t it obvious? The Olympics. The amazing opening ceremony on the Seine, Simone [Biles’] epic comeback, the USA-Australia rivalry in the pool, and the world’s fastest man and woman — Noah [Lyles] and Sha’Carri [Richardson] — racing for Team USA. I’ve never been more excited for anything in my life.”

The ad then cuts to a real-life POV of the scene, which shows that Carpenter isn’t actually having a Disney princess moment, but is merely talking to herself. “You need to behave yourself!” she tells the nonexistent bird, laughing like a madwoman. “You’re crazy!”

Meanwhile, a waiter looks on before telling a coworker in French, “I think she’s had enough espresso.”

The video, of course, is a clever nod to the singer’s smash hit “Espresso,” which reached a new peak of No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in June. It comes less than two weeks ahead of the 2024 Olympics’ opening ceremony on July 26, which will kick off about three weeks of events in the French capital.

Shortly after the Games conclude Aug. 11, Carpenter will drop her sixth studio album Short N’ Sweet.
