It doesn’t matter that Travis Kelce can pretty much go to as many Eras Tour shows as he wants — he still has to take videos of Taylor Swift when she’s on stage so that he can remember every moment.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end was in attendance at the musician’s first concert in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, Wednesday (July 17), where fans spotted him proudly filming his superstar girlfriend as she performed “So High School.” One clip shows Kelce sitting in a box suite seat on one of Veltins-Arena’s top levels, bopping his head to the romantic Tortured Poets Department track — which fans believe is definitely about him — and waving at Swift as he captures video on his phone.
Other fan videos find the football player mimicking Swift’s dance moves during “Style,” having previously said on his New Heights podcast, “I’ve seen the show so many times at this point, I’ll find myself in the crowd doing the choreography.” Toward the end of the concert, the 14-time Grammy winner once again changed her “Karma” lyrics to give her beau a shout-out — “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me” — after which he personally escorted her out from the backstage area, holding her hand as she waved to nearby fans.
According to fan calculations, the Gelsenkirchen concert marks Kelce’s 13th time attending one of Swift’s Eras shows, one year after their love story first began with him trying and failing to meet her after her Arrowhead Stadium stop. The musician has two more performances scheduled for Veltins-Arena, after which she’ll move on to Hamburg and Munich to close out the month of July.
Aside from Germany, the athlete most recently watched Swift’s performance in Amsterdam alongside Patrick and Brittany Mahomes. The retired soccer player later shared photos of the foursome seemingly enjoying a double date after the concert.
Before that, Kelce made a surprise cameo in the singer’s London show, joining her backup dancers on stage to assist in her performance of “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.” His appearances at the Eras Tour may soon start to decrease, however, as the Chiefs get ready to start training camp later this month.
