Snoop Dogg attended the Paris Olympics dressage in costume yesterday (August 3), despite being afraid of horses.
The rapper’s appearances at the Games have been widely seen as a highlight of the event. He is serving as a special US correspondent for NBC, as he was during Tokyo 2020, and was the final torchbearer during the torch relay.
Earlier this week, he took swimming lessons from 23-time gold medallist Michael Phelps in a segment for NBC.
Now, in the company of Martha Stewart, he said: “I am interested in the horses that dance and I want to give them some carrots and apples … make sure they’re fed before they do their thang.”
Stewart then explained how they ended up at the dressage. “Snoop called me and said he knows I know horses, and he’s a little fearful of horses.”
“I’m still scared of horses,” Snoop said.
“Have you ever ridden a horse?” Stewart asked. “No,” said Snoop. “I’m scared.”
“So we’re gonna do dressage,” Stewart said. “I have to keep him away from the horses. No feeding, no sugar, nothing. But we’re gonna have so much fun.”

In the end, Snoop did get to feed some horses. In the actual dressage competition, Snoop and Stewart saw Isabell Werth become the most decorated German Olympian, reaching a career total of eight gold and five silver medals.
In other news, Snoop Dogg recently claimed that the late Queen Elizabeth II “was a fan” of his.
Speaking to DJ Jordan North on Capital FM, the rapper was asked what he planned to get up to while he was in the UK. “I’ll go by the palace, see if they let me in,” he responded, referring to Buckingham Palace (via Music News).
North replied: “Well, I’ve heard the future King, William, is a huge Snoop fan.”
Snoop then said: “Well, the Queen was a fan too. Rest in peace to the Queen, that was my girl. You know what I’m saying? So, just may want to go up and, you know, see what you do… if they let me in or not.”
Indeed, in 2022, Snoop recalled how Queen Elizabeth II stopped him from getting thrown out of the UK in the 1990s.
