Josh Tillman will release Mahashmashana, his sixth album as Father John Misty, on Nov. 22 via Sub Pop. The eight-track project was produced by the artist and Drew Erickson and executive produced by Jonathan Wilson. A Estefania Kröl-directed video for the song “Screamland” is out now; the track boasts guitar accompaniment by Low’s Alan Sparhawk.
Named after the Sanskrit word for “great cremation ground,” the album also includes the previously released “I Guess Time Just Makes Fools of Us All,” which appeared on the summer compilation Greatish Hits: I Followed My Dreams and My Dreams Said To Crawl.
