Earlier this year, the Jordison estate announced that it had filed a lawsuit against Slipknot in June last year claiming that the band continued to use Jordison’s name and personal belongings “in a travelling Slipknot museum called Knotfest and lined their pockets with profit off of Jordison’s devoted fanbase” despite promising that they would return his belongings to his family after he was fired from the band in 2013.

Now, per a Blabbermouth report, Jordison’s estate has filed as of September 17 an unconditional settlement of the lawsuit. Details surrounding the settlement have not been made public.

In the original lawsuit filed, Jordison’s estate also commented on the band’s reaction following Jordison’s death: “Perhaps worst of all, Crahan and [Corey] Taylor publicly lied to fans that they had contacted Jordison’s family to check on them and express their condolences and love for Jordison in the wake of his passing. This was utterly false, and deeply upsetting for Jordison’s family to read such a blatant lie on the internet. It is clear that Taylor and Crahan did not actually care about Jordison or his family; they cared only about drumming up publicity and sales of the new album.”

Jordison, who founded the metal band in 1995 alongside late bassist Paul Gray and Shawn “Clown” Crahan, was fired from the band in 2013, with the band citing personal reasons. Jordison later revealed that he suffered from the neurological disease transverse myelitisHe passed away in July 2021 at the age of 46.

The band parted ways with drummer Jay Weinberg in November, sharing an official statement on social media claiming that they were “intent on evolving”, and made the “creative decision” that Weinberg will leave the band. His departure was 10 years after he joined the line-up, and just months after keyboardist Craig Jones left the group in June. Weinberg has since been replaced by former Sepultura drummer Eloy Casagrande, while Jones has been replaced by an unknown member.

The nine-piece are currently touring the US in support of the 25th anniversary of their self-titled debut album. For all of the anniversary shows, the band have revived their classic look, bringing back the red jumpsuits and elements of their early masks. They are also back on the road later this year, with a UK and European tour set to celebrate 25 years as a band – you can purchase tickets here.
