L.S. Dunes, the post-hardcore supergroup led by Circa Survive and Saosin frontman Anthony Green, will return at the top of 2025 with its sophomore full-length, Violet, Billboard can exclusively reveal. “Machines,” the first track released from the album, will be unveiled tonight at midnight ET.
The new album — out Jan. 31, 2025 on Fantasy Records — follows 2022’s roaring debut LP, Past Lives. Green formed L.S. Dunes alongside Coheed and Cambria guitarist Travis Stever, My Chemical Romance guitarist Frank Iero, bassist Tim Payne and Thursday drummer Tucker Rule.
“As an album, Violet encapsulates everything we’ve been trying to accomplish since we formed as a band,” says Payne in a statement to Billboard. “Which is to give us each, as individual musicians, a safe space to explore music in ways that we have not yet had the chance to.“
After making their debut at Riot Fest in 2022, the supergroup toured heavily in support of Past Lives before regrouping in the studio. “Having become much more familiar with each other as artists,” Payne continued, “we were able to continue to push each other’s creative limits, but this time with a concerted effort to put the songs above all else. This helped create a very cohesive sound, while still being true to our own stylistic choices.”
L.S. Dunes will head to Las Vegas this weekend for the When We Were Young festival, then tour across North America through Nov. 22. Violet can be pre-ordered here.
