It’ll follow ELO’s current ‘Over And Out’ tour in the US, serving as a final “goodbye” to their fans. “My return to touring began at Hyde Park in 2014,” explained Lynne. “It seems like the perfect place to do our final show.
“We couldn’t be more excited to share this special night in London with our UK fans. As the song goes, ‘We’re gonna do it One More Time!’”
Jim King, CEO of European Festivals at AEG Presents, said of the show: “Jeff Lynne’s ELO are loved the world over. The live shows are nothing short of extraordinary and a testament to the incredible catalogue of hits we’ve enjoyed for over 50 years.
“Hosting their final performance at BST Hyde Park is a true honour. We’re excited to be part of this special moment in music history.” The group will be joined by a host of special guest opening acts at their “historic final show”, with further names to be confirmed in the coming months.
Earlier this year, future headliner Bryan singer joined Bruce Springsteen as a surprise guest on stage during a show in Philadelphia for a performance of ‘Atlantic City’, as well as their recent collaboration ‘Sandpaper’.
The heartland rocker joins the likes of Stevie Nicks, Kylie Minogue, Stray Kids, SZA, Kings Of Leon, Morgan Wallen, Andrea Bocelli, Robbie Williams and Shania Twain in performing at the London festival.
