Tate McRae has two major pieces of news that’ll satiate even the greediest of her fans. In addition to announcing her third studio album, So Close to What, the 21-year-old pop star revealed Thursday (Nov. 14) that she’s going on tour in 2025 — all just hours before her new single “2 Hands” drops.

Posting the So Close to What album cover on Instagram, McRae kicked off her two-part day of announcements by writing, “guys…………. SO CLOSE TO WHAT the album out february 21st😭😭😭😭😭 omg.”

“Making this album has been the most beautiful and exciting journey,” she added in her caption. “i cannot wait to finally share it with you !!!!!!!!!!”

On the cover, McRae strikes a limber pose with her right leg shooting out to one side as she looks upon a glamorous backdrop photo of her own side-profile. A release describes the LP as being full of “unfiltered lyricism and raw emotions” representing “the journey of growing up when the road ahead feels infinite and the destination increasingly elusive.”

Just 20 minutes after posting the news about the album — which follows 2022’s I Used to Think I Could Fly and 2023’s Think Later — the Canadian singer-songwriter followed up with her tour announcement. “Another dream come true !!!!!” she wrote, sharing the trek’s poster.

Kicking off March 18 in Mexico City, the Miss Possessive Tour will find McRae traveling through Europe, Canada and North America through the end of September 2025. It’ll feature special guests Zara Larsson and Benee.

The news comes before McRae has even finished her Think Later World Tour, which launched in April in support of her sophomore album and is set to end Nov. 21 in New Zealand. Boosted by hit singles “Greedy” and “Exes,” Think Later bowed at No. 4 on the Billboard 200.

Also on Thursday, McRae will drop her previously announced new single “2 Hands,” which she’s been teasing on Instagram for the past few days. The track will arrive at 7 p.m. ET alongside a music video.
