Charli xcx undoubtedly made an impact with her sixth album Brat this past year — leaving her mark in the realms of music, style, and fashion with the era’s aesthetic. But for her next chapter, the “360” hitmaker plans to make her impact on the silver screen.

In an interview with Variety, Charli, 32, detailed her upcoming acting projects as the Grammy nominee is set to guest star in Benito Skinner’s upcoming comedy series Overcompensating, Gregg Araki’s upcoming thriller I Want Your Sex, Daniel Goldhaber’s remake of 1978’s Faces of Death and Julia Jackman’s graphic-novel adaptation 100 Nights of Hero. She revealed that she received advice from another multihyphenate — Ariana Grande — when she pulled a double stint on Saturday Night Live as a host and a musical guest on Saturday, November 16.

“[Grande had] obviously just done [SNL in September] and killed it, so I was getting tips,” Charli said of the Wicked star. “She was just like, ‘You’re gonna be amazing, just relax, it’s so fun,’ but outside of her advice about contact lenses — which I ended up not going with on the night — I really heeded [Lorne Michaels’] advice, which was just to trust the process, go with the flow and not try and overly control things that would automatically get figured out along the way. I listened to that advice because, I mean, how can you not?”

Earlier this fall, Charli and Grande, 31, teamed up for a remix of Charli’s track “Sympathy Is A Knife,’ in which the two musical powerhouses reflect on the struggles they’ve faced in the music business.

“She had a lot to say,” Charli said. “We went back and forth on the lyrics, talking about all the knives that we both felt in this industry.”
