The shortlists are out for the Original Score and Original Song Oscars, and they’re packed with familiar names from the world of rock. Chief among them are Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, the oft-awarded duo who made the cut in both categories for Challengers and the song “Compress / Repress,” plus the National’s Bryce Dessner, whose score for Sing Sing was among the mentioned.
Elsewhere in Original Score, former Yuck frontman Daniel Blumberg made the list for The Brutalist, Danny Elfman for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Hans Zimmer for Blitz and Harry Gregson-Williams for Gladiator II.
