Imagine Dragons perform live in 2024.

It’s been confirmed that Imagine DragonsStarfield theme ‘Children Of The Sky’ will be the first song broadcast from the Moon.

Last September, Imagine Dragons were joined onstage by the LA Film Orchestra and legendary video games composer Inon Zur for a gig at the Hollywood Bowl. Next month, the show will hit cinemas but before that, Imagine Dragons will soundtrack a record-breaking space mission.

On February 26, space tech company Lonestar is due to launch a rocket from Kennedy Space Center to land a data center on the Moon. If it’s successful, it will then transmit a song back to Earth with Imagine Dragons’ collab with Inon Zur the track of choice.

“Our goal is to inspire the next generation of kids to be excited about the future of space and technology, which is why we chose ‘Children Of The Sky’ as the first song in history to be broadcast from the Moon,” said Lonestar investor Ryan Micheletti in a press statement.

“Bethesda created iconic games we’ve been playing for most of our lives, and we’re honoured to have collaborated on this song for Starfield,” frontman Dan Reynolds said when ‘Children Of The Sky’ was released back in 2023. “The song, like the game, asks some of the most difficult questions we face as humans trying to find our place in the universe.”

“The band has created an amazing, emotional, and memorable song, and I joined them in crafting the Starfield motif into the song as well as iconic elements from the Main Theme and the Starfield orchestral treatment,” added Zur.

Last year, Renolds admitted that he’d been late for Imagine Dragons’ own gigs because he was busy playing video games. “Look, I’m really tall, 6 foot 4, never played sports, always did music and drama, so people probably think I’m not a gamer, but it’s my bread and butter. It’s our world,” he added, with the band also collaborating with League Of Legends, Nintendo and Netflix’s Arcane tv show.

Imagine Dragons are set to tour the UK later this year as part of a European stadium run that begins in May and will include two shows at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Tickets are available here.

In other news, Black Ops 6 players have uncovered a clue that points towards a new Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater game being announced next month.
