Actress Michelle Trachtenberg, best known for her role in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, has tragically passed away at the age of 39.

The actress was discovered by her mother at around 8 a.m. on Wednesday, February 26, at One Columbus Place, a 51-story luxury apartment complex located on Central Park South, according to the New York Post.

The cause of Trachtenberg’s death remains unclear, though sources mentioned to the Post that she had recently undergone a liver transplant.

In January 2024, Trachtenberg had reassured fans she was “happy and healthy” after a series of concerning Instagram posts sparked worry among her followers.
