Kendrick Lamar probably can’t go anywhere without being recognized, especially not on a college campus in Los Angeles.

The 37-year-old rapper previously admitted that he put his academic aspirations to the side after he graduated from high school in 2005 and said he did it to focus on his career in music. But it looks like he once attended some classes at UCLA in a video that recently went viral on TikTok.

More from Spin:

The clip of Lamar attending classes at the college was shared by @alejandrainparis on Tuesday, February 25, with a caption that read, “No one believes me 😂.” In the post, the Grammy Award-winning rapper can be seen in what looks like a classroom in multiple photos, looking like a regular student. Users on the app took to the comment section of the post to share their reactions to seeing the celebrity attending a college course.

“Imagine Kendrick just sat down next to you and was genuinely listening to your teacher n taking notes like bro what ur literally Kendrick Lamar,” wrote one user, while a second noted, “bro just wants an education leave the man alone.” A third user wrote, “Imagine doing a group project w KENDRICK LIKE WHAT 😂

The creator of the viral post also weighed in on the video in the comments, as some folks were asking when the clips were taken.

“This was in 2022, he was incredibly kind and humble. I didn’t realize who he was at that time—I just saw people asking for photos, and I took some too. It wasn’t until later that someone told me who he was. I might take this post down since I don’t know if sharing it is the right thing to do.”

The “Not Like Us” rapper most recently made headlines for his polarizing performance at the 2025 Super Bowl, where he had guest appearances from “Saturn” singer SZA, actor Samuel L. Jackson, and tennis legend Serena Williams.
