McFly's Danny Jones and Ozzy Osbourne

McFly’s Danny Jones has recalled how he once hung out with Ozzy Osbourne “in his Y-fronts”.

Speaking on the BRITs 2025: The Warm-Up TV show last night (February 27) ahead of the awards ceremony tomorrow (March 1), the singer spoke about the time he once visited the Black Sabbath frontman around the time when The Osbournes was being aired. The show ran from 2002-2005.

“I remember getting invited back to the Osbourne’s house, and I’m sat in the lounge, and I’m thinking, ‘This is cool – this is what I’ve seen on TV and that,’” Jones said. “And then I hear this, like, stomping coming.

“Down walks Ozzy, and he goes to the fridge, he gets a hot cross bun, glass of milk – it must have been prepped there ready for him. Sits next to me in a chair identical to that (points at host’s chair) in his Y-fronts. And I’m sat there going, ‘Oh my god!’ It was pretty cool.”

A host of artists are set to perform at this year’s BRIT Awards including Sam Fender and Lola Young as well as Sabrina Carpenter, who will also be awarded the prestigious Global Success award. JADETeddy SwimsThe Last Dinner Party, Myles Smith, Ezra Collective and Jorja Smith are also set to perform on the night.

This year’s top nominee is Charli XCX, who leads the pack with five nods including Artist Of The Year, Pop Act and Dance Act. Her collaboration with Billie Eilish, ‘Guess’, is also up for Song Of The Year, while her ‘BRAT’ record is shortlisted for Mastercard Album Of The Year.

Also nominated this year are The Cure, who have received their first BRIT nominations in over three decades for ‘Songs Of A Lost World’ – they are up for Album Of The Year, Group Of The Year and Alt/Rock Act. The Beatles have also been nominated for the Song Of The Year with Mastercard for ‘Now And Then’ – you can check out the complete list of nominees for the BRIT Awards 2025 here.

Elsewhere, Osbourne is set to perform at Black Sabbath’s last every gig on July 5, he is reportedly back in the gym in preparation.

It comes shortly after the frontman recently shared an insight into his well-being recently, and said that his ailing health has meant that he will be making fewer on-stage appearances at the gig than some would hope.

However, his wife and manager Sharon has assured fans that his illness “doesn’t affect his voice”. “Parkinson’s is a progressive disease. It’s not something you can stabilise. It affects different parts of the body and it’s affected his legs. But his voice is as good as it’s ever been,” she explained.

Sharon shared more insight into the singer’s health and voice when speaking to NME alongside Iommi at Villa Park, following the announcement of the huge show.

Here, she explained that her husband was currently doing “really great” and feeling “very emotional” about the final Sabbath show. “It’s what he wants,” she said. “He wants to say thank you to everybody. He didn’t have that chance because of his illness, but now he does have the chance.”

Sharon also told NME that ‘Back To The Beginning’ would be “just about celebrating the old music that still lives on”, rather than Black Sabbath releasing any new music. “You get to a stage in your career where whatever you do just doesn’t stand up to what you did before,” she explained. “To be able to rest on your laurels and say, ‘People still love that and it’s still selling and we can’t do better than what we’ve done’, that’s enough.”

Tickets for the concert went on sale on February 14, and due to the massive demand, many fans were left frustrated trying to secure tickets. Some people also criticised the high ticket prices – despite all profits being split equally across Cure Parkinson’s, the Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Acorn Children’s Hospice.

Meanwhile, Iommi and Butler have both shared statements about the upcoming reunion on social media, while Bob Daisley – the classic era Ozzy bassist – has talked about not being invited to perform at the band’s last show.
