Turns out, championship wins run in the Woods family.
On Saturday, March 1, Tiger Woods cheered from the stands as his 17-year-old daughter, Sam, helped lead The Benjamin School to victory in the Florida 2A FHSAA state championship. The Buccaneers clinched a 1-0 win over Episcopal School of Jacksonville at Spec Martin Municipal Stadium in Florida, securing the program’s first-ever state title.

The 49-year-old golf legend — who shares Sam and son Charlie, 16, with ex-wife Elin Nordegren — was spotted in the bleachers wearing a white baseball cap and a long-sleeve shirt. A clip shared on X (formerly Twitter) showed Woods throwing his fist in the air, high-fiving and cheering as his daughter’s team secured the win.
Benjamin head coach Hillary Carney praised Sam and the team’s defense for making the championship run possible. “It was really the stalwart defense leading the way,” Carney said in a statement obtained by the Palm Beach Post. “Emily [Simon] being in goal and Sam being that senior in the back just settling everything.”
After the clip of Tiger cheering on his daughter made its way online, it didn’t take long for the internet to react.
“Love seeing Tiger be a dad!!” one person wrote.
“So awesome to see him right there in the mix with all the other parents and not off to himself somewhere like he’s better than everyone,” another said.
“Good to see the GOAT so happy,” a third chimed in.
According to the New York Post, Sam will be heading to Stanford University in the fall — her dad’s alma mater.
