The audience at the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival 2023

Glastonbury 2025 fans have been reacting to this year’s line-up following the first wave of acts being announced this morning (March 6).

Neil YoungThe 1975 and Olivia Rodrigo are set to headline Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset from June 27 to 29 alongside many other acts like Charli XCXBiffy Clyro and Noah Kahan.

Other names on the bill include The Maccabees, Alanis Morissette, Lucy Dacus, Father John Misty, RAYE, Wolf Alice, The Prodigy, Doechii, St. Vincent,  Deftones, Scissor Sisters, The Libertines, Wet Leg, Weezer, AJ Tracey, Future Islands, JADE, TV On The Radio, Self Esteem, CMAT, Blossoms, Jorja Smith and Turnstile.

Young was already confirmed to headline the Pyramid Stage (after initially pulling out due to creative differences with the festival and claiming it was a “corporate turn-off”), while Rod Stewart had been revealed for the coveted Sunday Legend Slot, with Nile Rodgers letting slip that he and Chic will be performing directly after him.

Two of the most rumoured names to top the bill in recent months were Olivia Rodrigo and The 1975 – with further whisperings of Taylor SwiftSam FenderStevie Wonder and Rihanna (the latter with London stadium shows reportedly on the cards).

Many have reacted to The 1975’s headline slot on the Friday with one writing: “Love them or loathe them, I think it would be unfair to say The 1975 are not the biggest UK based band to be active over the last 10 years. They absolutely deserve to headline Glastonbury and if anything, they’re probably overdue.”

Another added: “People will moan about the 1975 headlining Glastonbury, until they actually see the 1975 headline Glastonbury. They literally have some of the best produced shows you’ll ever see. Their Glasto set will be no different.”

Others were disappointed though, with one writing: “Absolutely mental that The 1975 are headliners, just an awful band. Either Alanis Morissette or Busta Rhymes would have been much better as headliners. Like genuinely what are we doing.”

Another added: “If I had Glasto tickets id be pissed at the fact the 1975 is headlining awful band.”

Glastonbury’s other remaining headliner, Olivia Rodrigo, also received praise with one saying: “Olivia Rodrigo Glastonbury I love youu.”

Another added: “For the first time in a long time, the Glastonbury line-up looks like it’ll be worth going to. (There’s usually one or two artists playing I’d want to see, but this year there are loads… the big ones are Olivia Rodrigo headlining, Nova Twins, Beabadoobee and of course Deftones.”

A third said: “Omg, Olivia Rodrigo and The 1975? Glastonbury is gonna be insane this year!”

Her last appearance at Worthy Farm was in 2022, earning five-stars from NME and inviting Lily Allen to the stage for a surprise collab.

Others were disappointed, with one posting: “How and why is Olivia Rodrigo a headliner for Glastonbury please. And the SUNDAY headliner.”

Another added: “Are Olivia Rodrigo and 1975 headlining that’s just abysmal”, while one wrote that Charli XCX, who is believed to be closing the Other Stage on Saturday night, would have been a better headliner. “Charli XCX is a more worthy pyramid stage headliner than Olivia Rodrigo,” they wrote.

Others were pleased with the line-up overall with one writing: “This lineup is stacked – BUZZING!” Another added: “This is one of the best festival line ups I’ve ever seen.”

Others on a Reddit thread also discussed the line-up and gave their reaction with one writing: “Biffy, Deftones, Weezer & Turnstile is great. Worth the ticket money on its own.”

Another wrote: “Not bad! Wolf Alice reunion is HUGE,” while one added: “Great lineup. Weezer, Deftones and Neil Young all on the same day.”

One fan also said: “Most disappointing headliners of all time. But the rest of the lineup is crazy good.”

Another pointed out: “Yearly reminder: There is so many more acts than this. The best times are often the ones you don’t plan for. Not wanting to see a headliner is great so you don’t have to worry about big clashes. Glasto. Please don’t put Neil young on pyramid with charli on other stage at the same time.”

Others were also disappointed that Chappell Roan was not making an appearance at this year’s bash, but that could be due to an exclusivity deal with Reading & Leeds.

Organisers have promised that “many more acts and attractions [are] still to be announced” in the coming months.

The iconic Pilton festival is set to take its traditional fallow year off in 2026, before returning in 2027, to allow the farmland to recover.

Last year’s Glastonbury saw headline sets from Coldplay, Dua Lipa and SZA, as well as stellar performances from the likes of IDLES, Fontaines D.C., Kneecap, SEVENTEEN, The National, Justice, and LCD Soundsystem.
