The star-studded lineup for NBC’s upcoming Opry 100: A Live Celebration just keeps expanding, with the network announcing Thursday (March 6) that Post Malone, Keith Urban and a slew of other musicians will be joining the special.
In addition to the “I Had Some Help” singer and Australian musician, the three-hour showcase — which will simulcast live on Peacock at 8 p.m. ET March 19 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Grand Ole Opry — Alan Jackson, Alison Krauss & Union Station, Jamey Johnson, Ricky Skaggs, Steven Curtis Chapman, Terri Clark, Travis Tritt and Yolanda Adams have also added their names to the list of performers. Previously announced musicians set to take the stage include Jelly Roll, Eric Church, Garth Brooks, Brad Paisley, Carly Pearce, Carrie Underwood, Clint Black, Dierks Bentley, Kelsea Ballerini, Lainey Wilson, Luke Combs, Marty Stuart, Reba McEntire, Trace Adkins, Trisha Yearwood and Vince Gill.
Hosted by Blake Shelton, the broadcast will feature performances at both the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville as well as the city’s Ryman Auditorium, aka the former home of the Opry. Launched in 1925, the Opry is the longest running broadcast show in the world and features weekly live performances from both rising and established country artists.
“We’re pleased to partner with our Grand Ole Opry members to create a truly unforgettable evening as we kick off the Opry’s 100th year,” Opry Entertainment Group CEO Patrick Moore said of the NBC live special in a January statement. “This special night of programming will connect millions of country music fans to the magic of the Opry, and we hope it inspires them to join us in Nashville as we celebrate this milestone all year long.”
Tickets for the special first went on sale earlier this year, but a new batch of seats has now gone on sale with the news of the additional performers.
