The Power Rangers universe just lost one of its own.

On Wednesday, March 12, the official Morphin’ Legacy account took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce the passing of Dave Mallow — the voice actor behind Baboo in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. He was 76.

“It is with a heavy heart that we report; Iconic #PowerRangers Voice Actor, Dave Mallow, has passed away 😢,” the post read. “Dave was best known for his roles in #MightyMorphin; voicing such iconic monsters of the day such as Pudgy Pig, Lizzinator, Terror Blossom, Beamcaster and so many more! He was also the voice of the beloved, Baboo. Dave also provided voices for many monsters of the day from Zeo through Wild Force. Morphin’ Legacy sends all the love and light to his family during this time, Rest in Power! ⚡

According to TMZ, Mallow passed away the day prior while in hospice care at the MonteCedro Senior Living Community in Altadena, California. A former colleague shared that while Mallow’s passing was difficult news, it wasn’t entirely unexpected due to his declining health in recent years.

Shortly after the news broke, it didn’t take long for fans to react.

“Rest In Peace Dave Mallow. You will never be forgotten. Thank you for everything,” one person wrote.

“Oh man, not Dave, dude was a huge part of Power Rangers from the beginning, even as the old-school narrator for the episode previews,” another said.

“Now this is just damn sad,” chimed in a third.

Mallow is survived by his older sister, Marilyn.
