When most people hit their 80s, they’re slowing down — not changing diapers. But for Robert De Niro and Al Pacino, becoming dads again well into their golden years was no big deal. And that’s exactly what Sienna Miller is calling out.
While chatting with Elle UK in an interview published Monday, March 10, the 43-year-old American Sniper actress pointed out the double standard when it comes to age and parenthood — especially when it comes to women.

“No one has anything to say about — and I love these people, and they’re friends, which I like to name-drop — Al Pacino and Robert De Niro having kids in their 80s,” Miller, who shares a 12-year-old daughter, Marlowe, with ex Tom Sturridge and a 1-year-old daughter with boyfriend Oli Green, said. “Forget about your age! It’s irrelevant. It’s absolutely irrelevant.”
In April 2023, De Niro, 81, became a dad for the seventh time, welcoming daughter Gia with his girlfriend, Tiffany Chen. In addition to Gia, the Meet the Parents star shares Drena, 53, and Raphael, 48, with his first wife, Diahnne Abbott. He has twin sons, Julian and Aaron, 29, with ex Toukie Smith, and he also shares Elliot, 26, and Helen, 13, with his ex-wife, Grace Hightower.
As for Pacino, 84, he welcomed his fourth child, son Roman, with ex Noor Alfallah in June 2023. The Godfather legend is also dad to Julie, 35, with Jan Tarrant, and twins Anton and Olivia, 24, with ex Beverly D’Angelo.
Meanwhile, Miller, who had her second child at 41, said she’s faced scrutiny that her male counterparts rarely get.
“I now have a 12-year-old and a 14-month-old,” the mom of two told the outlet. “I think there’s a whole load of noise and people have a lot to say and it’s incredibly gendered and unbelievably misogynistic and anti-feminist. It’s insane.”
But she’s not letting the criticism get to her. “If your body is capable of it, have the baby. Have a wonderful baby,” Miller said. “And by the way, I’m a better mother now, and it’s a much more grounded experience. Have all the babies at any time you want to have the babies.”
