SEVENTEEN’s Hoshi and Woozi have dropped a special video for ‘Stupid Idiot’, a B-side off their new single album ‘Beam’.
The clip was released on March 12, only two days after the song was released earlier this week as part of their new single album ‘Beam’. The song was notably written and produced by both SEVENTEEN members, alongside frequent collaborator Bumzu.
‘Stupid Idiot”s accompanying visual takes on a vertical mobile phone format and features Hoshi and Woozi as they each prepare for a night out. The video ends with them getting mobbed by paparazzi while on their way to the party before they’re finally able to enjoy themselves.
“I go stupid, dummy in the club like an idiot / Everybody dancing in the party, teriyaki / I go stupid, dummy in the club like an idiot / I go stupid, dummy like an (Idiot),” they chant on the pre-chorus before the beat drops.
The ‘Beam’ single album was led by title track ’96ers’, which they released a music video for upon the record’s release. ‘Beam’ is completed by additional B-side track ‘Pinocchio’, which features So!YoON!.
“Woozi and I have always been inseparable since we were young. We’ve long dreamed of working as a unit, and now that we can finally present ‘Beam’ to the world, I’m beyond excited. This album truly reflects the kind of music we want to create, so we’re planning to fully enjoy ourselves on stage,” Hoshi said of the pair’s new music in a press statement.
The pair have also exclusively shared with NME a behind-the-scenes look at the filming of their music video. Check it out below.
The duo are the second SEVENTEEN sub-unit to release music in 2025, with BSS – comprising Hoshi, DK and Seungkwan – releasing the ‘Teleparty’ single album last month. The record marked their first comeback in two years, headlined by title track ‘CBZ (Prime Time)’.
The ‘Teleparty’ album received a glowing five-star review from NME’s Carmen Chin. “Over the course of three tracks, Seungkwan, DK and Hoshi, having rekindled the lost art of quirky K-pop, expand on their grounded whimsicality,” they wrote of the release.
