Taylor Swift has had her fair share of famous exes, but Joe Alwyn is one fans still keep tabs on. His latest move? A rare peek into his childhood.
On Wednesday, March 12, the 34-year-old English actor took to Instagram with a carousel of photos, including a red carpet snap from the 2025 Oscars, a mirror selfie, a painting and — most surprisingly — a throwback from his younger years.

The picture appears to be of an old Transport for London ID card. In the photo, a young Alwyn looks straight into the camera with a serious expression, dressed in a checkered shirt, suit jacket, and tie. His blond hair was slightly spiked in front.

The Brutalist actor’s post comes just over two months after he addressed the scrutiny surrounding his six-year relationship with Swift, 35. While chatting with The Guardian in January, he kept things vague, saying he’s tried to focus on “friends, family, work” and ignore the outside noise.
“If you let all of that other stuff in, and if it starts to affect you and your behavior, you’re living from the outside in,” Alwyn said. “And then you’re pretty f***ed.
When asked about the past, the Harriet star made it clear he’s moved on. “We’re talking about something that’s a while ago now in my life,” Alwyn explained. “So that’s for other people. That’s what I feel.”
The “Cruel Summer” singer and Alwyn started dating in 2016. They called it quits in April 2023, and months later, Swift began dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
While Alwyn hasn’t been reported to be in any serious relationships since Swift, a source told People in April 2024 that “he’s dating and happy.”
