Playboi Carti has finally dropped his long-awaited album, ‘Music’ – here’s the official tracklist featuring a star-studded line-up including Future, The Weeknd and more.

The record should have been out at midnight today (March 14), but Carti originally delayed the release by three hours. When the album didn’t arrive at 3am, fans became worried, but – according to hip-hop correspondent DJ Akademiks – the delay was due to an issue with sample clearances (via HotNewHipHop).

‘Music’ finally dropped a couple hours later. The album has 30 songs with guest spots from notable artists such as Travis Scott, Future, The Weeknd, Ty Dolla $ign, and Young Thug. His frequent collaborator Lil Uzi Vert also appears on ‘Music’, featuring on ‘Jumpin’ and ‘Twin Trim’ – their first collaborations in seven years since ‘Shooters’ from Carti’s 2018 debut ‘Die Lit’.

He also teamed up with Skepta and Kendrick Lamar for the first time, with Lamar featuring on ‘Mojo Jojo’, ‘Backdoor’ and ‘Good Credit’.

Carti sampled Ashanti‘s 2002 single ‘Only You’ on ‘Cocaine Nose’ and also used a remix of ‘Popular’ – the 2024 single he did with Madonna and The Weeknd – as a transition between ‘K Pop’ and ‘Evil Jordan’.

‘I Am Music’ is out now via AWGE/Interscope Records. Check out the tracklist and album below.

‘Music’ (also known as ‘I Am Music’) is Carti’s third studio album, serving as a follow-up to his polarising 2020 cult classic ‘Whole Lotta Red’. In a three-star review, NME called the LP “a disappointing follow-up [that] boasts moments of brilliance”, adding that: “Initially, you might be disappointed to have waited two years for what at first sounds like an underworked collection of throwaways. In places, though, the record rewards repeat listens.”

The Atlanta star first teased the album in 2021, originally calling the LP ‘Narcissist’. Over the years, the album underwent several name changes and delays.

Carti released a series of promotional singles for ‘Music, starting in December 2023 when he dropped ‘Different Day’ and ‘H00dByAir’. In January 2024, he shared ‘Backr00ms’ featuring Travis Scott and ‘EvilJ0rdan’, with ‘Ketamine’ and ‘All Red’ following in March and September, respectively. ‘H00dByAir’ and ‘EvilJ0rdan’ both appear on ‘Music’, albeit with different names.

Then, at last year’s Rolling Loud Miami, he teased five songs from ‘Music’, including ‘Crush’, ‘Cocaine Nose’ and ‘Rather Lie’ – with The Weeknd joining him for the latter.

The last release Carti was a part of before ‘Music’ was his feature on the remix for Latto‘s trap-inspired ‘Blick Sum’, which dropped back in January.
