Marcus Mumford of Mumford & Sons performs live

Mumford & Sons have announced that they will be donating money from ticket sales to help support grassroots music venues across the UK. Find out more below.

It comes as the band recently shared news of their upcoming album ‘RUSHMERE’, which is set for release on March 28 via Island/Glassnote (pre-order/pre-save here).

To celebrate the new LP – which marks their first since 2018’s ‘Delta and sees them make their debut as a trioMarcus Mumford and co. confirmed details of a UK and European tour last week. Six shows were planned for the UK, kicking off in Glasgow and comprising stops in Manchester, Sheffield, Birmingham, Cardiff and London. Now, the band have confirmed that they will be using the ticket sales to help support grassroots venues in the UK.

This comes as £1 from every ticket sold on the UK leg of the tour will be donated to the Live Trust – a new funding initiative from LIVE that will offer financial support to those working across live music. The fund looks to support numerous corners of the live music ecosystem, offering backing to venues, artists, festivals and promoters.

The news also follows the previous announcement that a further £1 from every ticket sold will be going to War Child. Mumford & Sons have partnered with PLUS1 for this, and the money donated will help young people affected by war. Visit here for more information on WarChild, and here for more information on the Live Fund.

Pre-sale tickets are available now, and the general on-sale kicks off this Thursday (March 20) at 10am local time. Visit here for tickets and find a list of the headline shows below.

Ahead of the UK and European tour dates, the band will also play a handful of US shows later this month, followed by some shows across the summer. Last week, for instance, they were added to the bill for Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Liverpool – set to headline the main stage on May 25.

Earlier this month, the members announced details of an intimate, live-streamed show taking place in Manchester and surprised fans by playing two back-to-back surprise gigs in London.
