Jenna Ortega has opened up about working with Lady Gaga on season two of Wednesday.
The ‘Abracadabra’ singer was added to the cast of the Netflix show last year – though who she is playing is under wraps for now.
Speaking to Film Updates, Wednesday Addams actress Ortega recalled collaborating with Gaga on the series, praising the star as she admitted they “couldn’t believe that she actually showed up”.
“She’s so unbelievably cool. How she still does it, I don’t know,” she said. “Working with her, we couldn’t believe that she actually showed up, even on the day. I think it was kind of a surreal feeling, but she is such a sweetheart.

“She’s so kind and just an absolutely lovely presence to be around, and obviously she’s so immensely talented that Tim and I just really had a great time getting to get to know her.”
She added: “It was weird, she was kind of like a pipe dream. We didn’t really think that something like that could ever happen. So we were just very grateful and appreciative. We love her.”
This isn’t the first time Ortega has shared her praise towards Gaga, the star calling her “the best” and “definitely one of the most talented individuals I’ve ever worked with” earlier this month.
“It was just a really, really special environment to be there with her and Tim [Burton], two people that I respect and have been inspired by so much,” she told IndieWire.
It comes after Ortega recently teased some details of the upcoming season of Wednesday, including a slasher-themed episode.
In NME‘s four-star review of Wednesday season one, we said: “Wednesday ends up a rare spin-off success story. It’s creepy, kooky, mysterious and spooky – and an absolute treat.”
Meanwhile, Gaga recently released her latest album ‘Mayhem’, which NME also awarded four stars, saying: “‘Mayhem’ feels like a great Gaga album because it’s just so much fun. At times, it’s a bit like reconnecting with an old friend who makes sense even when they seem to be chatting nonsense.”
