In the early 2000s, Jennifer Coolidge was everywhere — Legally Blonde, A Cinderella Story, American Pie. But just as her career was blowing up, she hit pause. Why? Men.
“I wanted this guy that I was obsessed with. I wanted him to like me, so I went completely off-track,” the 63-year-old award-winning actress told The Times in an interview published Sunday, March 23. “I wasted a lot of time — and that moment passes. And, God, if I could live my life over again, I wouldn’t have done what I did.”

Coolidge went on to say that she was getting so many offers at the time, but she didn’t take full advantage. “It was this incredible wave and my surfboard was there and I got on. Then I got off,” the A Minecraft Movie star told the outlet. “I sabotaged myself.”
And it wasn’t just one guy. “It was guys and, well, everyone wants certain things in their life at a certain time,” Coolidge explained. “I was trying to have relationships with men who were unavailable, or there are guys out there who really hate women deep down — and I certainly dated them.”
The 2 Broke Girls alum also opened up about the pressure of not having the kind of love story her friends had. “I have friends that went to their prom in the last year of high school, found a guy, fell in love with him and still have that guy,” she said. “I haven’t had that luck.”
These days? Coolidge is single — but loving the attention from her role as Tanya on The White Lotus. “Even though I play a complete weirdo… cute guys come up to me,” she said. “This is far better than American Pie… that show really upped my game!”
