RuPaul’s forthcoming memoir, The House of Hidden Meanings, is No. 1 on Amazon’s bestselling LGBTQ+ Biographies list ahead of its release on March 5.

Described as his most “intimate and details book yet,” The House of Hidden Meanings offers a “brutally honesty, surprisingly poignant and deeply intimate” look inside the drag icon’s life exploring childhood, relationships and identity.

According to the book description, RuPaul gets candid about growing up as a queer Black child in San Diego, Calif., his “complex relationship” with an absentee father and “temperamental” mother, finding his identity within the punk and drag scenes of New York City and Atlanta, battles with self-acceptance and sobriety and more.

“I’m so excited and so anxious at the same time because I reveal so much of myself,” RuPaul said a video announcing the memoir last year. “This world today, it feels so hostile, and it’s such a scary place to be vulnerable in. But I did it. So get ready.”

The introspective memoir also explores RuPaul’s road to fame, his Emmy-Award winning Drag Race franchise and music career. The singer, producer and host landed his breakout hit with “Supermodel (“You Better Work”)” off his debut album, Super Model of the World, released in 1993. The dance anthem peaked at No. 45 on the Billboard Hot 100.

RuPaul has dropped 14 albums over the last three decades including his most recent LP, Black Butta, released last year.

The House of Hidden Meanings is available in hardcover, audio CD, audiobook, Kindle. The hardcover is on sale for $26.99 at Amazon (reg. 29.99).
