This past Friday (May 3), the DJ-producer and singer took to social media to announce the upcoming record and released the album’s first single, ‘Berghain’, in the process. The album is due for release on June 14 via RCA Records.
The album will mark Channel Tres’ first-ever, and is previewed by the dancey track ‘Berghain’ featuring Barney Bones. Speaking about the track in a press release, Tres – real name Sheldon Young – said it was written about the time he played the iconic Berlin club.

“It’s about the time I played Berghain and how the culture in that environment made me feel, I didn’t feel weird anymore. Everyone’s the same, the goal for everyone in that place is to enjoy themselves and be free, and music played a pivotal role in that. It was the main thing for me and I wanted to document that experience I had there through music so that I always have that memory in my life. So I can feel that memory while I’m performing and relive that experience.”
The old-school techno-inspired track will be the seventh song on ‘Head Rush’. Little else is currently known about ‘Head Rush’.
The album will follow Channel Tres’ joint EP will Kaytranada and Rochelle Jordan, ‘Lover/Friend’, which arrived in November last year. In 2020, Channel Tres released the EP ‘I Can’t Go Outside’, which featured Tyler, The Creator and Tinashe.
He made his debut in 2018 with the breakout single ‘Controller’. Since then he has released a slew of EPs, alongside working with JPEGMAFIA, Disclosure and Robyn, while appearing alongside SG Lewis, Jungle and more on their songs.
