On January 31 at 6PM KST, VIVIZ made a comeback with their third mini-album titled ‘VarioUS’. The release was accompanied by a confident new music video for its lead single ‘Pull Up’.
All eyes are on VIVIZ in the new visual, with onlookers constantly scrutinising and photograph their actions. The girl group grow fed up with the stares throughout the visual, and cause the heads of those watching them to explode in a shower of colourful fireworks.
“So just pull up / Son’t have any expectations, back it up / Yeah, I say buzz off / I don’t want to know how you feel, yeah,” they sing in the groovy chorus.
“It’s a song about getting cute, satisfying revenge on people who talk about you behind your back,” said Eunha of the new title track at a media conference earlier today, per KoreaJoongAngDaily. “I think a lot of people can relate, and we hope this song feels like we’re throwing a satisfying punch for them.”
In addition to ‘Pull Up’, ‘VarioUS’ includes five B-sides, namely: ‘Blue Clue’, ‘Love or Die’, ‘Vanilla Sugar Killer’, ‘Overdrive’ and ‘So Special’. The new record arrives almost six months after the release of VIVIZ’s sophomore record ‘Summer Vibe’ last July.
VIVIZ was formed by xx-GFRIEND members Eunha, SinB and Umji in October 2021, nearly half a year after the third-generation girl group’s abrupt disbandment. The trio later debuted with their first mini-album ‘Beam of Prism’ and the single ‘BOP! BOP!’ in February 2022.
In a 2022 interview with NME, VIVIZ spoke about coping with the transition from their GFRIEND days. “Our members seem to be people who are able to adapt well to new circumstances and situations, even more than I expected,” youngest member Umji shared.
