Bebe Rexha has opened up about her sadness and anger with aspects of the music industry in a series of posts on X/Twitter.

The American singer spoke of her frustration at being “silence [sic] and punished” by the industry and said that she could bring down a “big chunk” of it in her posts.
Rexha wrote the posts this afternoon (July 2) while in London, after perfoming at Pride over the weekend, and said that she had been “crying my eyes out” in her hotel room in the city.
“I could bring down a BIG chunk of this industry,” she wrote. “I AM frustrated. I Have been UNDERMINED. I’ve been so quiet for the longest time. I haven’t seen the signs even though people constantly are bringing them up and they have been SO OBVIOUS. And when I have spoken up I’ve been silence [sic] and PUNISHED by this industry. Things must change or I’m telling ALL of my truths. The good the bad and the ugly.”

Her fans leapt to her defence, one bringing up the time her name was originally left off the credits of David Guetta’s single ‘Hey Mama’ in 2015, unlike fellow featured artists Nicki Minaj and Afrojack. To this, Rexha replied, “My love. That? Compared to all the other stuff you don’t know about? That’s child’s play.”
Another asked, “What stops you from speaking? Do it! We are with you,” to which Rexha replied, simply, “THEY PUNISH YOU.”
Someone suggested that Rexha making the posts was “perfect timing” to coincide with the promotion of her new single ‘I’m The Drama’, but Rexha said, “Marketing? I have no budget for that.”
She finished: “This is not just coming from a place of anger. It’s sadness. I’m sitting in my hotel room in London crying my eyes out. I’ve felt hopeless for the longest time. I’ve been walking a lot through this city and meeting fans and they have really ignited something inside of me,” before thanking her fans for giving her strength.

Last month, Rexha specifically called out rapper G-Eazy, too, calling him a “stuck-up ungrateful loser” for not directly asking her to shoot social media content with him.
The pair previously worked together on the single ‘Me, Myself and I’ from G-Eazy’s 2015 album ‘When It’s Dark Out’.
On her Instagram story, she shared a screenshot with the request and wrote underneath, before later deleting the post: “G-Eazy you have my number. Why don’t you text me and ask me yourself you stuck up ungrateful loser?
“You’re lucky people are liking you again. Cause I could go in on all the shitty things you’ve done and how you treated me after giving you your only real hit. Btw the answer is no. Hope you good.”
