The annual event is staged at Worthy Farm in Somerset as a ‘thank you’ fundraising gig for villagers, workers and local people in the area.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of Pilton Party, which first took place back in 1984. On Friday (September 6), The Libertines will top the bill on an open-air stage close to where the Woodsies Stage (fka the John Peel Stage) is located at Glastonbury Festival.
CMAT is scheduled to open for the band following slots from local support acts, and DJ sets courtesy of Patmandu and Baggy Mondays.
Tickets for the one-day event are on sale now, priced at £45 (adult) and £20 (child) – you can buy yours here. Check out the official line-up poster above.
Last year’s Pilton Party hosted performances by The Streets and Arlo Parks. Other recent acts on the bill include Elbow, Hard Life (fka Easy Life), Wolf Alice, Supergrass (who reunited at the event in 2019) and Liam Gallagher.
In 2020, Chris Martin recalled how Coldplay filling in for The Strokes at Pilton Party led to his band’s first headline set at Glastonbury Festival.
Martin and co. returned to Worthy Farm in June to headline the Pyramid Stage for a record-breaking fifth time. They topped the Glastonbury Festival 2024 line-up alongside Dua Lipa and SZA.
All eyes are now on Glastonbury 2025, which is due to take place from Wednesday June 25 to Sunday June 29 ahead of a fallow year in 2026. Tickets for the next edition are expected to go on sale in November, ahead of resales in the spring.
Rumours are already circulating about potential headliners for 2025 – with Olivia Rodrigo, Sam Fender, Green Day and The Rolling Stones being among those mentioned. However, the recently reformed Oasis have ruled out a slot as part of their huge reunion tour next summer.
Meanwhile, Cher is reportedly “in talks” for the coveted legends slot at Glastonbury Festival 2025.
In other news, CMAT is up nominated for this year’s Mercury Prize for her acclaimed second album ‘Crazymad, For Me’. The winner of the 2024 award will be announced live at Abbey Road Studios tomorrow (September 5).
