The Ulaanbaatar band played their first show opening for Iron Maiden in San Diego, California on Friday (October 4), and are set to continue on the road with them around North America throughout October and November.
To commemorate their inclusion on the tour, the band have also shared their version of Maiden’s 1983 single ‘The Trooper’, originally released on their fourth studio album ‘Piece Of Mind’.

The band’s lead throat singer Gala has said: “The Hu is thrilled to be on Iron Maiden’s Future Past Tour in North America. For us, this tour represents an important milestone for the Mongolian music industry and a historical step towards the world stage. As a special thank you, and out of huge respect as fans of the band, we covered their legendary song ‘The Trooper’ and are happy to be sharing that with you ahead of this tour!”
In addition to the Future Past tour, The Hu will also play a series of headline shows around North America, with guests The Funeral Portrait. Find tickets to their US shows here.
The band released their second and to date most recent album, ‘Rumble Of Thunder’, in 2022. It included the singles ‘Black Thunder’ and ‘This Is Mongol’, and a deluxe version followed in 2023.
They did, however, release a live album of their first ever performance at Glastonbury Festival in 2023, titled ‘The Hu Live At Glastonbury’ in June this year via Better Noise Records. That set also included a cover of Metallica’s ‘Through The Never’.
They were also a part of Slipknot’s Knotfest Australia in March 2024, alongside the likes of Pantera, Disturbed and Lamb Of God.
