The Houston hardcore punk band Mexican Coke have been kicked off their current tour with the bands Fentanyl and Asbestos after it was reported that the frontman fought an audience member.
The removal of the band occurred this past Saturday (October 5) after the band’s show in Salt Lake City got messy. According to a Reddit post, Mexican Coke’s vocalist had allegedly “spent the entire show drinking in excess, treating young concertgoers poorly, cussed out the audience, and continued to egg on a group of drunk punks in the audience, and then refused to start performing until he had another beer in his hand.”

The post continued, claiming that after “a song and a half of drunken mumbling”, the crowd began to throw beer cans at the band with one drunk punk getting on stage to fight the singer. It added that “multiple other people came to aid both sides and it ended with the vocalist having his shirt torn off.”
One commenter added that the vocalist was allegedly “calling audience members homos and f*gs, throwing beer cans into people’s faces. He then broke an $80 piece of microphone equipment, and then on top of that proceeded to call someone the N word.”
The commenter added that the person who went onstage to fight the frontman was not a drunken punk but rather “the people running the venue”. They added: “Also the rest of the band seemed as bewildered as everyone else there. Talked to Fentanyl and they said he hasn’t been like that at all on tour. Don’t wanna throw the rest of the band under the bus, it was just the singer who decided to throw a drunk temper tantrum.”
Fentanyl frontman Kenny Turner took to his official X/Twitter to announce that Mexican Coke had been kicked off the tour. “Mexican Coke are no longer playing this tour. Pull up for Asbestos as direct support,” read his tweet.
At the time of writing, Mexican Coke have not addressed the alleged actions or publicly commented on the matter.
The tour will continue in Spokane, WA tonight (10/7), followed by shows in Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, Sacramento, and San Francisco. Check out a full poster of tour dates above.
