Michelle Williams is thriving in her Broadway run, but she says her time on stage could be even better if two of her sisters were there too.

The singer and actress, 45, is currently playing Viola Van Horn in a Broadway production of Death Becomes Her based on the 1992 movie, and her former Destiny’s Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Beyoncé supported her from the show’s audience during the opening on Thursday, November 21. In an interview with Us Weekly published on Tuesday, November 26, Williams said she would be happy for her Destiny’s Child musical sisters to join her in a Broadway show.

“I would actually love for them to,” Williams said. “I think they’re very capable of starring in a Broadway show — absolutely!

Queen B and Rowlands visit isn’t the only reunion Williams has experienced during her Death Becomes Her run. For this particular production, she reunited with costume designer Paul Tazewell with whom she previously collaborated on the first national tour of The Color Purple in 2007.’

“When I saw his name was actually a part of that design team, I said nothing,” Williams said in the US Weekly interview. “I knew I was gonna be in good hands.”

The Grammy-winning vocalist add that putting on Tazewell’s glamorous costumes on took her back to her girl group days.

“Especially with all the beading and some of the jewels,” Williams explained. “I know in some of the fittings, I was reminded of all those times of being cinched in corsets.”

In addition to Death Becomes Her, Tazewell has previously designed costumes for Broadway’s Hamilton, which won him a Tony Award for Best Costume Design for a Musical. Most recently, Tazewell was the costume designer for the movie adaptation of Wicked.
