Miley Cyrus‘ first new solo song since her 2023 album Endless Summer Vacation has arrived in the form of “Beautiful That Way,” which was written for the Gia Coppola The Last Showgirl. Cyrus co-penned the song with Lykke Li and Andrew Wyatt.
“Beautiful That Way” is nominated in the Best Original Song – Motion Picture category, where it will vie against songs from The Wild Robot, Emilia Perez, Challengers and the Robbie Williams biopic Better Man.

The Last Showgirl stars Pamela Anderson, who Cyrus says is “deeply embedded into my earliest memories with my mother. We both worshipped Pam and still do. I took the emotion I have towards those times with my mom and the few times we’ve gotten to spend with Pam. I thought a lot about what this film means to her, not just as an actress but as the special person that she is. I celebrate evolution and she has done that in such a graceful way, which is reflected in Last Showgirl.
“This song is devoted to the film and focused on the story Gia and Pam are telling,” she adds. “The lyrics really resonate with me personally but sonically this song is a love letter to their project.”
Cyrus saluted Wyatt as “a longtime friend and musical genius” and said she “trusted his instincts for the film, as he has devoted himself to finding the sound that supports this project. Lykke Li is a fabulous songwriter and had a great concept which made it simple to come in and make it me.”
Since Endless Summer Vacation, which spawned the hits “Flowers” and “Used To Be Young,” Cyrus has guested on albums by Dolly Parton and Beyoncé and released a cover of Talking Heads’ “Psycho Killer” to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the latter band’s Stop Making Sense.
