Mötley Crüe have shared a statement after frontman Vince Neil‘s private jet was involved in a fatal crash, confirming that he was not on board.

The incident occurred at Scottsdale Airport in Arizona yesterday afternoon (Monday February 10). Neil’s girlfriend Rain Andreani and her friend suffered injuries, but they are not thought to be life-threatening.

They were both taken to hospital with the plane’s co-pilot, who was also injured. The pilot of the aircraft has died. (via The Independent).

Earlier today (February 11), Neil’s representative Worrick Robinson shared a statement about the collision on Mötley Crüe’s official social media channels. “At 2:39 p.m. local time, a Learjet aircraft Model 35A owned by Vince Neil was attempting to land at the Scottsdale Airport,” it began.

“For reasons unknown at this time, the plane veered from the runway causing it to collide with another parked plane. On board Mr. Neil’s plane were two pilots and two passengers. Mr. Neil was not on the plane. More specific details regarding the collision are not available as this is a rapidly evolving situation and there is an ongoing investigation.”

The message continued: “Mr. Neil’s thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved, and he is grateful for the critical aid of all first responders assisting today.”

According to TMZ, Adreani, 43, broke five ribs in the crash. The publication claims that the airport runways were temporarily closed, after the emergency services responded.

The Federal Aviation Administration has confirmed that the incident is under investigation.

Airport officials said the preliminary investigation appeared to show that the left main landing gear failed as the plane was landing, causing it to collide with a Gulfstream 200 business jet. Neil’s jet was arriving from Austin, Texas.

The dogs that Adreani and her friend were travelling with also survived. Adreani and Neil are thought to have been in a relationship for 14 years.

In other news, Mötley Crüe are set to begin a Las Vegas residency next month.
