The popular event first announced its return to both cities this year just last month, with further expansions into other cities and regions. Notably, the K-pop festival held shows in Europe and Hong Kong last year. KCON also landed in Thailand and Saudi Arabia in previous years.

KCON 2024 marked new heights for CJ ENM, after KCON Japan welcomed a record-breaking crowd of 140,000 while KCON LA saw over 5.4million fans across both its physical venues and online platforms. It also became the first-ever national primetime broadcast of a K-pop show in American television history via CW Network, per Billboard
