Bloc Party have announced that they will be releasing their classic ‘Little Thoughts’ EP for Record Store Day 2025.

Back in 2023, the band shared that ‘Little Thoughts’ as well as “every song missing” from their catalogue would be added to streaming services. The EP and tracks were added to streaming services in early 2024. Now, Kele Okereke and co. have shared that the EP will be available on vinyl for the first time.

In a tweet shared by the band, they explained: “The ‘Little Thoughts’ EP is being pressed to vinyl for the first time as a white 10″ containing all six original tracks. It will only be available as part of this year’s @RSDUK – get your copy at your local independent record store while stocks last.”

The EP contains the tracks ‘Little Thoughts’, ‘Tulips’, ‘Storm And Stress’, ‘Helicopter’ and ‘Skeleton’, as well as a Minotaur Shock remix of ‘Tulips’.

The tracks ‘Little Thoughts’ and ‘Tulips’ were released together as a double A-side single back in 2004. The ‘Little Thoughts’ song would later on appear in certain versions and re-releases of the band’s debut LP, ‘Silent Alarm’. The following year, ‘Tulips’ was later released as a standalone single in the US only.

The EP will be available only on Record Store Day, which will take place on April 12. The event will see hundreds of exclusive releases made available on a first-come-first-served basis at over 270 independent record shops across the UK and at thousands more globally.

With Sam Fender confirmed as an RSD ambassador in the UK and Post Malone Stateside, the full list of releases has now been shared – also featuring the likes of BeabadoobeeRachel ChinouririConfidence ManEnglish TeacherLil Uzi VertMegan Thee Stallion, MJ Lenderman and Post Malone, alongside legends including Public Image LtdLou ReedThe Jesus and Mary Chain and many more.

In other Record Store Day news, Wu-Tang Clan recently announced that they will be releasing a new album ‘Black Samson, The Bastard Swordsman’ for the day.

The legendary hip-hop crew have not released a full-length album since 2017’s The Saga Continues, but that will change on April 12 when a limited edition run of 5,000 copies of the new record will be available in participating Record Store Day retailers.

Elsewhere, Blur have announced that they will be releasing a new merch capsule and two new versions of ‘The Magic Whip’ in celebration of the album’s 10th anniversary for the 2025 instalment.

Suede are also set to share the previously unreleased track ‘Blinded’ as part of their new ‘Sci-Fi Lullabies Vol.2’ collection for the event.
