The world is full of celebrity doppelgängers — Elijah Wood and Daniel Radcliffe, Margot Robbie and Jaime Pressly, Katy Perry and Zooey Deschanel. And now, according to Jelly Roll, he might be next in line… if he keeps shedding pounds.

While chatting with CMT — a clip of which made its way to Instagram on Friday, February 28 — the 40-year-old country star poked fun at his ongoing weight loss journey and how it might lead to an unexpected case of mistaken identity.

More from Spin:

“I’m wondering if I lose a little more weight, and when I get to Italy, if they’re going to mistake me for Post Malone,” Jelly Roll (whose real name is Jason DeFord) quipped to the outlet. “Like if I get skinny enough that they just see face tattoos, they’re like, ‘Post! Post!’”

It’s not the wildest comparison. Both artists are covered in ink, have roots in rap, and have made their way into country music — though the 29-year-old “Sunflower” singer (whose real name is Austin Post) has yet to confirm whether his first bona fide country album, F-1 Trillion, marks a full career pivot or just a one-off project.

Jelly Roll’s comments come on the heels of a major fitness milestone. The Grammy-nominated artist, who has dropped 120 pounds, recently took on something he never thought possible — a mountain hike.

“I hiked a mountain the other day. Camelback,” he told E! News last month. “There is no way that would have been possible beforehand, so it’s great to see that progress and we still are going.”

And he’s not stopping there. Jelly Roll has his sights set on an even bigger goal. “I wanna be on the cover of Men’s Health by March of 2026,” he revealed on his wife Bunnie XO’s Dumb Blonde podcast in December 2024. “I wanna have one of the biggest transformations.”
