King Charles III has shared a personally curated playlist of his favourite songs.
Dubbed ‘The King’s Music Room’, the playlist, which included songs by Beyoncé, RAYE, Kylie Minogue, Diana Ross, Bob Marley and Grace Jones, dropped on Apple Music 1 at 6am GMT this morning (March 10). You can listen to it here.
In a radio broadcast recorded at Buckingham Palace, the King said: “Throughout my life, music has meant a great deal to me. I know that is also the case for so many others. It has that remarkable ability to bring happy memories flooding back from the deepest recesses of our memory, to comfort us in times of sadness, and to take us to distant places.
“But perhaps, above all, it can lift our spirits to such a degree, and all the more so when it brings us together in celebration. In other words, it brings us joy.”

Among his favourite songs were Beyoncé’s ‘Crazy In Love’, RAYE’s ‘Love Me Again’ and Kylie Minogue’s version of ‘The Loco-Motion’, which he described as “music for dancing”.
He added: “It has that infectious energy which makes it, I find, incredibly hard to sit still. There is such an irresistibly joyous feeling to that song.”
Diana Ross’ classic ‘Upside Down’ was also one of his “particular favourites.”
“When I was much younger, it was absolutely impossible not to get up and dance when it was played,” he added. “So, I wonder if I can still just manage it?”
The King also thanked Beyoncé for her work helping support the Prince’s, and now, the King’s Trust, before congratulating her on winning her first album of the year award at the 2025 Grammys last month.
Speaking about Bob Marley And The Wailers ‘Could You Be Loved’, he also said the late legend had “marvellous, infectious energy, but also his deep sincerity, and his profound concern for his community.”
He added: “I always recall his words: ‘The people have a voice inside of them.”
This isn’t the only time that King Charles III has opened up about his love of music. Back in 2021, the royal also shared that songs by The Three Degrees, Diana Ross and Edith Piaf were among his personal favourites.
As for other royals, last year, the Prince Of Wales attended a Taylor Swift ‘Eras’ live show along with Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
