SEVENTEEN members Hoshi and Woozi have released their first single album together, ‘Beam’, alongside a music video for title track ’96ers’.
Hoshi and Woozi are the latest sub-unit from K-pop band SEVENTEEN. The duo’s lead single, ’96ers’, credits Woozi and Bumzu as its producers, both of whom also co-wrote the song alongside Hoshi, among others. Both the song and single album ‘Beam’ were released today (March 10).
The song’s music video features Hoshi and Woozi performing the song in a chaotic art museum, where they present themselves as living masterpieces. “Chiefs amongs the sonogong / Born in ninety-six, we’re next after the dragon bros / No need to swear even if you’re jealous / Just do it like us now, just like this,” they chant in the chorus.
“Woozi and I have always been inseparable since we were young. We’ve long dreamed of working as a unit, and now that we can finally present ‘Beam’ to the world, I’m beyond excited. This album truly reflects the kind of music we want to create, so we’re planning to fully enjoy ourselves on stage,” Hoshi said of the pair’s new music in a press statement.
Woozi added: “It’s an incredible experience to release a new album with my closest friend in life. We had an absolute blast working on it, and I believe that energy is what makes this album so honest and true to us.”
The duo are the second SEVENTEEN sub-unit to release music in 2025, with BSS – comprising Hoshi, DK and Seungkwan – releasing the ‘Teleparty’ single album last month. The record marked their first comeback in two years, headlined by title track ‘CBZ (Prime Time)’.
The ‘Teleparty’ album received a glowing five-star review from NME’s Carmen Chin. “Over the course of three tracks, Seungkwan, DK and Hoshi, having rekindled the lost art of quirky K-pop, expand on their grounded whimsicality,” she wrote of the release.
