
After taking a spill onstage on Feb. 22 in Uncasville, Ct., Billy Joel has undergone surgery for an unspecified “medical condition” and will postpone eight upcoming stadium concerts scheduled through late June while he recovers.
“While I regret postponing any shows, my health must come first,” the 75-year-old artist said. “I look forward to getting back on stage and sharing the joy of live music with our amazing fans. Thank you for your understanding.”

Gigs in Toronto, Detroit, Syracuse, N.Y., Charlotte, N.C., Salt Lake City, Edinburgh and Liverpool, England have all been rescheduled, while an April 26 performance in Milwaukee has no new date yet.
Joel is planning to return to the stage July 5 in Pittsburgh. Later this summer, he’ll embark on a mini-tour of New York-area stadiums, including Yankee Stadium (July 18), MetLife Stadium (Aug. 8) and Citi Field (Aug. 21). He’ll also be joined by Stevie Nicks, Rod Stewart and Sting at various points on his 2025 itinerary.
