Julien Baker & Torres have shared their haunting new single ‘Dirt’ from their forthcoming collaborative album ‘Send A Prayer My Way‘.

The acoustic-driven ballad sees the duo sing: “Used to think that it was magic / Now I’m sure that it’s a curse / Spend your whole life getting clean / Just to wind up in the dirt”, describing the struggle of two people in a tumultuous relationship.

‘Dirt’ marks the fourth single to be released from the Baker & Torres’ upcoming album, which is set for release on April 18 via Matador and is available for pre-order here.

The track follows the previously released ‘Sylvia‘, ‘Tuesday’ and lead single ‘Sugar In The Tank‘. They also previously debuted their song ‘Bottom Of A Bottle’ on The Daily Show earlier this month.

While appearing on The Daily Show, Baker & Torres discussed the creative process of ‘Send A Prayer My Way’ and their religious upbringings, with Baker sharing: “I think there’s this idea that you talk about a practice of a prayer, you’re talking about a dogmatic religious belief. But I feel like organized religion is not necessarily the same thing. It maybe often gets in the way of pursuit of the divine.”

The release of ‘Dirt’ comes shortly after the duo had to cancel their forthcoming performance and talk at Ohio University on March 27 and their set at Knoxville’s Big Ears Festival this forthcoming weekend (March 29-30) due to one of their “key members sustaining a concussion”.

However, the duo are set to embark on their ‘Send A Prayer My Way’ 2025 US tour with headline dates kicking off April 23 in Richmond, VA and wrapping up in Omaha, NE on May 12. They will also play a handful of music festivals. Check out a full list of tour dates below and visit here to purchase tickets.
