This week, our New Music Latin roundup — a compilation of the best new Latin songs, albums and videos recommended by Billboard Latin and Billboard Español editors — is powered by new music from Omar Courtz, DannyLux, GALE and Kali Uchis’ highly anticipated, mostly all-Spanish album Orquídeas.
Omar Courtz teams up with hitmaker Haze for “UNA NOTi,” a mid-tempo reggaeton track fused with catchy synth beats, released via Mr. 305 Records. The song tells the story of having chemistry with someone and wanting to hang out with them at all times. “’UNA NOTi’” is inspired by the jangueos and chinchorros of Puerto Rico and those nights when you go out with your partner to dance and vibe all night long,” Courtz said in a statement. “Showing the intimacy you can have with someone who makes you feel like you’re high just by their very presence.”
Meanwhile, Uchis delivers her 14-track venture Orquídeas, on which she “blends soulful melodies, mirroring the delicate, exotic, and graceful nature of the orchid itself,” writes Billboard Español‘s Isabela Raygoza. This marks the Colombian American’s second Spanish-language album and her fourth LP overall. In Orquídeas, Uchis covers a spectrum of styles including Afrobeats, bolero, synth-pop and reggaeton. The set also features star-studded collaborations with Peso Pluma, Karol G and Rauw Alejandro.
Other new releases include GALE’s gorgeous cover of Shakira’s 1990s anthem “Inevitable,” DannyLux’s new song “Un Día Entenderás” from the upcoming deluxe version of his 2023 set DLUX, and Carin León, Keith Urban and Rosario Flores “Si Me Llevas Contigo,” part of the soundtrack for the Prime Video series Zorro, set to premiere Jan. 19.
